I'm actually from Bloomington-Normal, IL. I never realized how unique my dialect is and how many other words people from the same country have for the same things. If there's that many differences between me and my fellow Americans, it causes me to wonder how different the people from England could be given how I previously thought that they were relatively quite similar to Americans.
I am planning on going to Lancaster, UK next semester. Although I've been to London before, I have been told that the rest of the country is much different. This would come as no surprise given the unique character of all of our Megalopolises such as New York City. Known for it's castles and beautiful countryside, Lancaster has me super excited to go abroad once more.
