| Duke Marine Lab |
Next semester I will be traveling to the Duke Marine Lab in NC and hopefully spending a small portion of that time studying in Singapore. Although I may not be traveling out of the country the environment I will be living in will still be much different then the "bubble" I am used to. Never having spent time away from my home state I'm excited to experience a different lifestyle and atmosphere.

| Pittsburgh, Fort Worth, and Irving |
I took the New York Times dialect quiz and got Pittsburgh PA, Fort Worth Tx, and Irving Tx. I was surprised at how accurate this quiz was because I have lived in Pennsylvania my entire life only traveling for a week or so for vacation.
When watching Trevor Noah's videos and reading Karl Ove Knausgaard's piece it gave me a look into how other cultures may perceive our habits and behaviors. Travelers should take time to read and watch these works to understand that every places culture and way of life seem "right" or correct to them. Part of traveling needs to involve taking in the places you are visiting for what they are and not making conclusions or judgement on those you meet and what you experience.
